Are you willing to take the 21 day No Moaning Challenge?

How much time do you spend thinking negatively? Do you sit in judgement of other people? Are you grumpy when there is really no need? Would you like to have peace of mind?

Thankfully, most of us are free to choose how we think in our society. We are not in the middle of a war nor are we on the bread line. We have a house to sleep in and our survival is not constantly being challenged. This puts us in the top economic 8% of the world. Yes, we are officially living in the most privileged time that humans have seen on earth!

So why are so many of us, including our children, suffering from depression? Unfortunately, negative thinking patterns have become the norm. The news is full of doom and gloom because that is what sells. We love drama whether it’s our own or someone else’s because it makes us feel important in this celebrity culture of ours. We spend hours gossiping about what other people are or are not doing because we think it will make us feel better if someone else is having a harder time than we are.

Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be like this. Changing your attitude changes your life. Try the 21 day No Moaning Challenge. It takes 21 days to form a new habit so, once you’ve done your 21 days of positive thinking, you will think more positively in the future.

What are the rules? No moaning, no whinging, no gossiping, no bitching. If you need a reminder, you can put a bracelet on one wrist to remind yourself. If and when you catch yourself thinking negatively, swap it onto the other wrist and start all over again.

On average, it takes six to eight months for people to fulfill the 21 day challenge because of the need to start and restart many times over, but it is worth it. There are so many benefits to this learning. Observation, for example – the challenge won’t stop you from not liking something but you won’t have to go into an entire thought attack about it. Then there’s enhanced self-awareness; you’ll learn more about your trigger points and what is likely to upset you. You’ll drop grudges and any desire for revenge as you learn how to let go and this will free up energy. It will also lift you out of the past and future and bring you into the present. Oh, and you may even lose weight. Not only will you no longer need to comfort eat, but letting go of negativity will actually make you feel lighter and, hey presto, your body will respond accordingly!

It’s a win-win challenge, however long it takes you, and such a relief! So, go ahead and spring clean your mind with positive thinking. Allow yourself to be happy and smile as others grow happier around you, too.
