In a world where the news is full of war, rising prices and climate catastrophe, how can we deal with fear and resist being pulled down into the hatred, anger, violence, and anxiety that are being directed towards us from governments and their media?

Fear makes us helpless. It turns us into victims and robs us of power and the ability to think for ourselves. Humans are supposed to have free will but fear keeps us unconscious and prevents us from having any choice at all.
The control that fear has over us is being demonstrated in the world as we speak. Much of the shadow behaviour and many of the dark beliefs that have amassed over the short period of human history are rising up like a boil needing to be lanced.
The only way to rise above this overwhelming fear is to become more conscious and this means developing the self-discipline to choose where we put our attention. Focusing on fear-mongering will keep us in the dark where focusing on the positive will help us rise into the light.
Light, psychologically, is represented by qualities such as love, compassion, forgiveness, wisdom, honesty, freedom, unity and co-operation. Darkness is represented by shadows such as fear, anger, blame, ignorance, lies, separation, servitude, and control.
The opposite of fear is love but love is something that we can only develop inside ourselves. Love is a state of being which changes everything. It gives us our power back. It means that we can no longer be controlled by anyone other than ourselves.

When we live in a state of love, for it is something that we are rather than something which we do, we regain our power and free will. We realise, for example, that we can have a peaceful world by becoming peaceful in ourselves. That we can have a kind and compassionate world by being kind and compassionate to ourselves and others. That we can create a more sustainable world by learning how to be self-responsible and make wise, ethical choices.
This is already happening. For example, The People’s Health Alliance was born in April as a response to the impossible task faced by the NHS. As ambulance response times get longer, and it becomes increasingly difficult to see a GP or hospital consultant, the PHA has devised a template to create hubs all around the country where people can get together to help themselves and each other using both allopathic and complementary therapies. https://the-pha.org This concept of compassionate people power can also be used to help distribute food and help with other shared needs. And the PHA is already creating world-wide interest.
Thanks to the dedication and hard-work of such conscious and enlightened individuals, we, for the first time in human history, are being given a chance to take back our control and not fall victim to fear. We are evolving beyond the need to be told what to do. We can choose to research for ourselves and make informed decisions with the help of other like-minded people, irrespective of age, gender, race, religion or socio-economic status.

Fear deserves to be put where it belongs, in the past. Our present is waking up out of darkness and reclaiming our free will. Our future is the light of raised consciousness.
Remember that light is always stronger than dark. After all, we can always see a single candle flame in an ocean of darkness, but we can never see a smudge of darkness in a beam of light.
So here’s wishing us all a cessation of fear in a summer that brings peace and healing to us all, wherever we are in this wonderful world.
