When we look up into a clear sky with a full moon beaming down on our face, we can feel the magic of light within darkness. Across every culture and every age, people have stopped at this moment in the lunar cycle to gather, to give thanks, to witness what has grown since the new moon. There is something in us that recognises this light, something ancient and unhurried that knows how to rise when the moment calls.
This is not a night for planning. There will be time enough for new intentions at the next new moon. Tonight is for something rarer and, for many of us, something harder: it is time to receive.
Ask yourself gently what you have done this cycle that deserves to be celebrated. Include the small things, the conversation that took courage, the creative work you kept faith with, the kindness you offered to another or, tenderly, to yourself. The moon does not dim herself out of modesty. Neither should you.

Read them back slowly. Receive your own words as you would those of someone you love. Then lift your eyes toward the moon and let her reflect your brightness right back at you. You’ll be astounded at the beauty you see…
